There are several other benefits and discoveries I have made:
1) The community of writers is incredibly supportive.
2) I will never run out of resources to get me through any

So, if you feel as lucky as I do to be a part of this community, comment and tell me why and you will be entered to win a copy of Elana Johnson's debut novel, Possession! Why Elana's? Because she has been instrumental in my growth as a writer and blogger. Thanks, Elana.
Awesome giveaway...thanks for this! I feel so lucky and blessed to be part of the writing/blogging community because it has given me a renewed sense of self-worth. Being in daily contact with other writers (from beginners to published) helps me remember that I'm not battling this alone!

I can't wait to read her book, lucky you to have one! :) The community is awesome, isn't it? Glad you are having a good experience.
ReplyDeleteElana is AWESOME as is this book!!!
ReplyDeleteLucky to be part of the writing community because it's wonderful to know there's a world of people out there who share my passions and dreams and are so helpful and supportive of each other. (Would also feel very luck to read POSSESSION - Elena rocks.) Happy writing and blogging. - Stasia
ReplyDeleteI feel lucky to be a part of this community because I'm introduced to new writers every day who are going through the same struggles I'm going through.
ReplyDeleteI also feel very lucky to have landed an agent that is doing her best to get my work to editors.
(And I feel especially lucky to have the chance to win Elana's book! ;D )
Great post!
I feel lucky to be a part of this community because I can make friends without embarassing myself in social situations. I don't have to look beautiful, or dance well, or buy expensive clothes to fit in.
ReplyDeletePlus, I get to look at your beautiful smile each time I log onto your blog. Good post.
I haven't been blogging very long either, but I truly have felt excepted and supported in this community. I have learned so much in such a short time, I am extremely blessed to have met so many wonderful people.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine getting to where I am in my writing if I didn't belong to the huge, wonderful group of writers that I do. They teach me craft, they inspire me, buoy me up when I'm feeling like all I write is crap, and keep me keepin' on.
ReplyDeleteI feel lucky to be part of this community because, before I began blogging and met up with more writers, my progression as a writer was slow. In the past year + my writing has improved, increasing my confidence. Sometimes people even ask me for advice. I'm not where I want to be yet, but I'm miles from where I began.
ReplyDeleteI feel lucky to be a part of the community because there's a spirit that motivates and inspires. There's also a certain honest sharing that keeps one focused. And we can stretch ourselves without penalty, but always learning.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on reaching so many followers so soon. You've got a rockin' good blog!
Hi Pam - Elana sent me your way! You know - she was pretty much my inspiration to start seriously blogging a few months ago, too. She's pretty awesome! I'll throw my hat in to win her book - thanks for the opportunity! (of course, if I don't win - I'll buy it anyhow) :)
ReplyDeleteI found you on Elana's blog, too. She's amazing! I feel lucky to have the support of so many other people . . . and not just that, people who really understand. If I'm bummed by a rejection, I can usually find someone sharing about that very thing. So supportive and encouraging, even though in a sense we're all competing against each other. But it never feels like a competition. Just unconditional support. :)
ReplyDeleteI've made some fantastic friends, and have met so many people who are going through the same thing I am. I love the writing community!

ReplyDeleteI would love to have you come visit me at my blog and follow me. I love to make make new friends.

Congrats! Taking the time to blog isn't a chore because the benefits are multi fold! Great contest!
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about the community is finding people who understand. My boyfriend and friends, even my family try to understand but they truly just don't get it.
ReplyDeleteIn the community I can tell them about some beta tester, or an edit that's killing me, or an idea that just isn't coming together and they can understand and be supportive.
That's what I love. Understanding so I don't go crazy!
I'm a new follower, can't wait to read your entries. :)
Congrats on your successful blog. You are really attracting people. I think that people put a part of their souls into the books they write. I have enjoyed reading Elana's blog and would love to see what kind of book she has written, and get to know her a little better through the page.
ReplyDeleteHi Pam! I would think I'd died and gone to heaven to win Elana's book! Thanks for the giveaway! Elana's the best! And this online writing community has saved me the past few years - that is for sure!

Hi Pam! Just found your blog through Elana's and can't wait to read more of your posts. I agree with all the reasons you listed, but I think I'm especially thankful to have met so many talented and generous writers through the online writing community!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great giveaway!
I feel lucky to be around people who get what I'm going through, e.g., people who know the difference between a 'good' rejection and a 'bad' rejection. The writing tribe knows that there are a thousand steps between having a great idea and seeing it on the shelves. (I'm on step 831.)
ReplyDeleteHello Pam!
ReplyDeleteI found you through Elana's blog as well. Although I'm relatively new to the writing community, I've found that writers are generous with their advice and support. Their journeys inspire me to continue on mine.
Love your blog and thanks for the awesome giveaway. Congrats on reaching over 100 followers!
My reasons are similar! I'm constantly in awe of the generosity of blogging publishing people and how much I learn at their hands.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on passing 100 followers!!!
